Why should I get eyelash extensions?
We’ve all been there. Staring back at ourselves in the mirror, admiring the precise way we have applied our eyeshadow. Now time to frame it. Mouth contorted, lips pouted, mascara face in full action. Shit! Shit! Shit! Feels like a hot poker in the eye! Pink eye slammed shut, I now look like I’ve been in the ring with Mike Tyson! Why do we bother?
Mascara as we know today was invented in the 1830s. A healthy cocktail of petroleum jelly and coal dust was rocketed into the mainstream by Eugene Rimmel and Thomas Lyle Willams (Maybelline).
Fast forward to the roaring 20s and the likes of Gretta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich depended heavily on mascara to glamorise their appearance’s and ultimately turn them in to the sultry sex symbol they’re still regarded as today.
But where are we now? It’s obvious fashions change, beauty trends come and go, please 90s brows, remain in the 90’s. But eyelash extensions are really standing the test of time.
Why is that? Is it the fact that you can wake up in the morning and just be ‘done’? If i had a pound for every time a client has been told they look ‘ill’ without them it be on a Caribbean island rollicking with cute sea swimming micro pigs! “Why do i look like a mole?” They cry.
Well that’s because they really do have the ability to change your face and eye shape. From a wispy cat eye, to wide eyed doll effect, natural no makeup look classics to full volume, the combinations and results seem endless. You can try it yourself with strip lashes, you’ll be struck starring cluelessly at the different types, again, stuck in the mirror pulling that ridiculous concentration face, swearing at the god damn impossible things.
Leave it to the professionals, see what this addictive fuss is all about, because this ‘fad’ is not going to be joining that 90s brow, regrettably, in the past.
